Key Information

I am absolutely delighted to be able to share with you the outcome of our recent inspection. I hope you enjoy reading the excellent report attached which is a real celebration of our school.

This inspection was carried out under the new framework and report card system, which sets a very high bar for schools across a wide range of areas. I am incredibly proud to say that West Bridgford Junior School has been judged to have achieved a strong standard in all areas — a very rare outcome nationally, and an incredible achievement for our whole school community.

This recognition comes four and a half years after our previous inspection and reflects a sustained period of hard work, determination and continuous improvement. It is a testament to the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the unwavering support of you, our families.

The report highlights that “parents rightly hold the school in high regard” and that parents are “overwhelmingly positive about the school.” Their support, trust and partnership make a tremendous difference to everything we do.

Perhaps most importantly, inspectors recognised the very special qualities of our children. They describe them as “polite and articulate” and note that they “talk about their lessons with enthusiasm and recall important knowledge with confidence and clarity.” We were incredibly proud to hear pupils described as the “best possible advocates for the school” — they truly are a delight and represented our school brilliantly.

The report captures the strength of our provision across all areas. For example, inspectors noted that pupils “routinely produce high-quality work” and are “very well prepared for the next stage in their education.” They also recognised our culture and ethos, highlighting the “kindness, fairness and mutual respect” that underpin relationships across the school.

Beyond academic success, we are particularly proud that the school’s wider work shines through so strongly. Inspectors described our pastoral care as “second to none” and recognised that “as a result of the school’s excellent work pupils thrive and leave the school with the academic and personal skills they need to continue to go from strength to strength.”

To achieve a strong standard in every single area is something we are incredibly happy and proud of. It reflects a school that is not only performing extremely well, but one that is deeply committed to continual growth and excellence.

Yours sincerely,

James Willis
