I’m Mrs Dix although the children and staff mainly call me Miss McQueenie. I began my teaching career as Miss McQueenie some 18 years ago at West Bridgford Junior School and despite taking time out to travel, found myself returning to school 12 years ago. In my current role, I work Wednesdays and Thursdays in school and cover PPA time alongside other teachers. I love the variety that teaching across Years 3 to 6 gives me and I enjoy following the children as they move up the school.
Favourite Book
I love reading and escaping with a story. It’s a tough choice but I would say ‘An Eagle in the Snow’ by Michael Morpurgo. I think Year 6 would probably agree with me.
Favourite Hobbies
Walking in the countryside and visiting new places
Reading
Going to the cinema
Spending time with my family and friends
Eating out!
Favourite Number
I like the number 4. I’ve no idea why. Maybe it’s because I love teaching shape in maths and lots of shapes have four sides? Who knows?!
