West Bridgford Junior School

DfE guidance on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We would like to reassure all parents and carers that the safety and welfare of all our children remains of paramount importance to us.  The school continues to follow the most up-to-date guidance provided by the Department for Education in relation to COVID-19 - all schools have been advised they must remain open at this time.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include either:

  • a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
  • a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly

The government have today updated their guidance for the public and we ask all parents and carers to observe the following:

- If your child is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 they must 'self-isolate' for 7 days from the onset of symptoms.

- If someone living in your household has symptoms of COVID-19, your child(ren) must 'self-isolate' for 14 days from the onset of that person's symptoms.

Please continue to advise the school office, by phone or email (, if your child has COVID-19 symptoms, if they are self-isolating as part of an affected household or if they have another illness that means they are unable to attend.  It is essential that we know the specific reason for absence in order that the attendance register is correctly completed.

Thank you for your continued support of our efforts to keep our whole school community safe.
